Meet The Designer
Samantha Sullivan

What is your background?

I have always been a designer at heart and after leaving school I completed a year of architecture, and a Bachelor of Graphic Design. I furthered my passion for interior design while studying and after my degree received accreditations in this field. After completing several years in window furnishings, I wanted to dive further into design and came across to the building design industry.

What made you want to get into interior design?

I love being able to use by visual skills and understanding of design principles and aesthetics, to create beautiful homes for clients. It’s the ultimate in satisfaction.

What do you love about your job?

Working with different clients with different tastes and in different life stages with the end goal of making their dream home a reality. I love the variety of people, styles and home designs I encounter.

What tile designs really get your heart racing?

I love coastal, Hampton, and modern farmhouse styles. Dependent on the client and which look they are trying to achieve; all of these tile designs can include a subway tile in a brickbond or vertical stack lay. I also love a Carrara marble mosaic in a herringbone lay.

What product trends are you seeing when it comes to tile and flooring?

Many of my clients are selecting light concrete-style tiles for their main flooring, or they’re goig for a light oak floor, with a wool carpet in the bedrooms.

If you could makeover your own kitchen, what would it look like?

I dream about having a white terrazzo benchtop, a light oak engineered timber floor, an antique white finger mosaic splashback, white VJ panelling to  the barback, and under bench white cabinetry with Polytec Plantation Ash overheads. Perfection!
