Meet The Designer
Sarah Stoddart

What is your background?

My first steppingstone into the construction industry was working at Bunnings Warehouse during school and I remained there whilst I was at university studying my Diploma of Interior Design & Decoration. Once receiving my diploma, I went on to do my own freelance design work and then took on a role at Beaumont Tiles as a Selections Consultant.

What made you want to get into interior design?

I feel like I have always had an eye for design, even when I was little. I used to go through magazines and circle what items I would put in my future home. I love renovating and being hands on in order to great beautiful spaces. I just feel like I was destined to be in the design industry

What do you love about your job?

I love helping people design their new dream homes and how excited people get when you start to pull the look together for them

What tile designs really get your heart racing?

I actually love most tiles so this question is a little tricky, if I was to be a little more specific I do love tiles that create textures and have movement so mosaics and handmade subways are right down my alley.

What product trends are you seeing when it comes to tile and flooring?

I find that hand made tiles are very in at the moment, people love that textured look it creates, and
terrazzo is back (for now at least!)

If you could makeover your own kitchen, what would it look like?

I renovated my kitchen 2 years ago and I still love it – I would describe it as a modern-day farmhouse. It is bright and open, with shaker doors, feature splashback & a little touch of colour. I love that I kept the features to a minimum to keep the space humble & homely but it still a space that I walk into a smile every day
